The Department of Posts (DoP) is all set to make this year’s Independence Day celebration even more special with the launch of “Har Ghar Tiranga 2.0.” This initiative aims to facilitate the online sale and distribution of National Flags through the ePostoffice Portal, ensuring that every Indian home can proudly hoist the tricolor on this auspicious day. In this blog post, we delve into the comprehensive guidelines for this online sale and highlight the steps taken to make the process hassle-free for citizens across the country.
Unveiling Har Ghar Tiranga 2.0:
To promote a sense of national pride and unity, the DoP, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), has made provisions to offer the National Flag for sale on the ePostoffice Portal. This will enable users to conveniently purchase the tricolor, measuring 20 inches x 30 inches, alongside other departmental products like Gangajal and eIPO.
1. Date and Duration:
The online sale/distribution of National Flags will begin on 1st August 2023, and the orders can be placed until 12th August 2023, 2359 hrs. This timeline ensures that all flags booked through the portal reach their respective destinations before 13th August 2023, in time for Independence Day celebrations.
2. Pricing and GST:
Each National Flag is priced at Rs. 25 and, importantly, there is no GST applicable on the sale/distribution of the tricolor.
3. Easy Purchasing Process:
Users need not register as “registered users” to buy the National Flag from the ePostoffice Portal. Instead, they can use the portal as a Guest User by providing their mobile number and OTP.
4. Purchase Form and Delivery Address:
Upon accessing the portal, users will find a Har Ghar Tiranga Banner on the Home Page, guiding them to the purchase form for the National Flag. In this form, users will specify their delivery address, the quantity of flags (up to 5 per customer), and their mobile number. Customers will also be reminded to adhere to the latest Flag Code regulations during the purchase.
5. Online Payment and Invoice Generation:
Customers can complete their purchase by making an online payment. Once the payment is successful, an invoice will be generated. Please note that cancellation of orders will not be possible after placing them.
6. Nodal Office for Payments:
Sansad Marg HO is designated as the Nodal Office for receiving payments through the ePostoffice Portal. The payment made by customers will be credited to Sansad Marg HO’s account via the available Payment Gateway on the portal, specifically under the Head of Account 120100800010100, GL code 1800010102.
7. Timely Monitoring and Delivery:
Circle Nodal Officers or Single Point of Contacts (SPOCs) will be responsible for monitoring incoming invoices and ensuring prompt delivery to the addressees. As the sale/distribution window is narrow, timely action is essential to deliver the National Flags in the minimum possible time.
8. Free Delivery:
The delivery of National Flags to customers will be free of cost. The respective Circle/Region/Division will arrange for delivery through the nearest Post Office, ensuring proper acknowledgment of receipt.
